Laken Riley, a 22-year-old nursing student, was brutally murdered near the Intramural Fields on the University of Georgia’s campus. The suspect, Jose Antonio Ibarra, a 26-year-old illegal alien from Venezuela, was arrested for her murder. But of course, the liberal media is already trying to spin the narrative to fit their agenda.

The Associated Press shamelessly framed the story as an issue of “toxic masculinity” and “solo female athletes’ fears,” completely ignoring the fact that this tragedy could have been prevented if we had stricter immigration policies. They even had the audacity to refer to Ibarra as an “Athens resident” instead of calling him what he really is – an illegal alien.
The tragic reality is that Laken’s senseless death could have been avoided if the Biden administration had taken more decisive action on immigration. Ibarra had been arrested twice before for minor offenses, yet he was allowed to roam free, ultimately leading to this devastating loss. It’s a stark reminder of the dangers of letting illegal immigrants slip through the cracks.
The response from running groups and women’s forums offering safety tips is admirable, but it’s disheartening that the focus is on what women should do to protect themselves, rather than addressing the root cause of the issue. It’s time to shift the conversation from teaching women how to avoid danger to holding criminals accountable for their actions.
