The IRS has a long and storied history of being used as a political weapon, and it’s a trend that has not only continued but seems to have ramped up in recent years. Fast forward to 2023, and the IRS made headlines once again when journalist Matt Taibbi found himself getting a visit from its agents on the same day he was set to testify about government censorship. Coincidence? Sure, if one believes in the tooth fairy.
In a brand-new spectacle, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was targeted by the IRS like a deer in the headlights of a speeding car. He posted a letter online revealing that the couple owes over $33,000 to the IRS, suggesting that the agency was rushing to audit him as he took on his new role. Hegseth nailed it when he termed this aggressive attention from the outgoing Biden administration a “total sham.” Apparently, the party that loves to prattle on about ‘norms’ and ‘decency’ has little qualms about playing with fire.

The timing of the IRS audit looks suspicious at best and downright villainous at worst. With Hegseth stepping into his new role, one has to wonder what exactly the Biden administration thought they were trying to accomplish. Observations such as the IRS’s latest antics being an obvious extension of political maneuvering seemed to fly under the radar for many in the mainstream media.

One user humorously noted that this type of behavior could only be described as something out of a “clown world” – highlighting a reality so bizarre it almost seems scripted.
