This is the kind of accountability sorely lacking in today’s DOJ swamp, where partisan hacks like Smith have long roamed free, abusing their authority to target conservatives and protect the Left’s political machine.

Smith pushed aggressively to fast-track trials, tried to strong-arm the Supreme Court, and dumped massive piles of evidence before the defense even got a chance to respond. Every move reeked of desperation to derail Trump’s 2024 campaign. Now, after firing 20 DOJ employees who worked with him and dodging real scrutiny for too long, the political tide is finally turning.
But don’t expect justice to come easy. Because Smith resigned before this probe began, the penalties are “limited” in official terms — a slap on the wrist of a few grand in fines or a temporary ban from federal work. Hardly a real penalty for a man who weaponized the federal government against an American president. Worse still, the DOJ’s silence and the slow pace of the investigation prove once again that the Left protects its own until the political winds demand otherwise.
Jack Smith’s appointment itself was a scandal, tainted with constitutional questions and political bias. Merrick Garland’s handpicked “special counsel” was never about justice — it was about vengeance. Court rulings tossed out Smith’s indictments not on technicalities, but because they were fundamentally illegitimate. This probe, launched after relentless pressure from Republican leaders like Senator Tom Cotton, exposes just how rotten the system has become. The DOJ’s firing of prosecutors linked to Smith’s cases only reveals how deep and corrupt the Biden administration’s politicization of justice runs.
If the Department of Justice truly wants to clean house, this can’t end with a bureaucratic slap on the wrist.
