Jake Tapper, the CNN host, has gone off the rails with his latest push for “repercussions” against Elon Musk for not offering his Starlink satellite network to the Ukrainian military during a planned attack on Crimea. Tapper’s interview with Secretary of State Antony Blinken was filled with bias and a clear agenda against Musk. Tapper seems to believe that the government should have ultimate power over private companies, which is a dangerous and fascist viewpoint.
It’s important to remember that Musk is a private citizen and his Starlink system is a private technology that he has graciously given to Ukraine. He is not obligated to use it in every situation. Tapper’s suggestion that Musk should face repercussions is an attack on American freedom. Thankfully, Blinken understood this and chose not to take the bait.
Tapper should brush up on basic civics before spouting off his misguided opinions.
