Jake Tapper, CNN’s talking head, is suddenly trying to don the cape of a hero, claiming to expose the Biden administration’s attempts to hide the former president’s cognitive issues. But let’s not break out the confetti just yet. Tapper’s so-called courage comes a bit too late in the game. For years, his network was the cheerleader squad for Biden, spinning tales to discredit any concerns about his declining health.
Tapper’s new book shares tantalizing stories, like Biden’s non-recognition of George Clooney at an important fundraiser, or the alarming whispers among Biden’s team that a wheelchair might become a necessity for re-election pursuits. But Jake, and CNN, now want to cash in on these revelations? Where was this journalistic vigilance when the American people needed it most?
CNN has consistently played down the anxiety about Biden’s mental acuity. Even in June 2024, when it was evident that Biden was struggling, Tapper and his network dismissed critical reports as partisan potshots, giving center stage to Biden’s lackeys like Sen. Chris Coons to wave away the claims. CNN’s anchors even ridiculed Republicans who raised legitimate concerns. It’s rich that now, when the stark reality can no longer be ignored, they’re scrambling to act like arbiters of truth.

This move from Tapper and CNN reeks of opportunism. It’s all about ratings and clicks, folks. They’re scrambling to rewrite their narrative, turning a blind eye to the role they played in amplifying Biden’s façade. The fact is, the American public isn’t blind, and they won’t forget CNN’s broadcast of falsehoods or its refusal to confront Biden’s issues head-on when it mattered.
Tapper and CNN, so desperate for relevance, want us to cheer them for revealing what many Americans have known for a long time. Their selective outrage is a blatant attempt to remedy their shattered credibility. Should we applaud them for uncovering the admin’s secrets? Or should we question why they covered them up all along? The answer seems clear as day—let’s not hold our breath for any real accountability.
