James Comey’s legal troubles have finally caught up with him, and yet the left is already lining up to defend the disgraced former FBI director like he’s some kind of hero. Texas Democrat Jasmine Crockett actually celebrated the prospect of a defense attorney making a name by defending Comey. Let that sink in. A party that spent years weaponizing the justice system against political opponents now rallies around a man indicted for lying to Congress and obstructing justice. The level of hypocrisy is staggering—even by liberal standards.
Comey’s indictment is more than justified. The man who tried to sabotage a sitting president’s administration is now facing real consequences for his reckless lies under oath and blatant obstruction during a Senate hearing. But Democrats don’t want accountability. They’d rather weaponize “concerns” about prosecuting Comey or threaten the lawyers who dare to go after him. This is the same circus they ran when they tried to turn the Russia investigation into a political weapon. Now, with the Steele Dossier exposed as the sham it was and the Durham report confirming the FBI was chasing smoke and mirrors, they’re scrambling to protect their own.

What’s truly disgusting is the left’s desperate attempt to delay and complicate the legal process. Crockett’s eagerness to push for a speedy trial should have been expected, but only if her goal was truly justice. Given the left’s track record, expect endless appeals, political pressure, and a media circus meant to drag this trial out until the public loses interest. Meanwhile, they cry foul when anyone dares to suggest that Comey deserves to face the music like anyone else. If he’s innocent, why the panic? If he’s guilty, then he deserves to be held accountable—no special treatment for the powerful political elites who think they’re above the law.
The Democrats’ double standard is crystal clear. On one hand, they demand ruthless investigations and prosecutions for anyone even loosely connected to Trump. On the other hand, they treat Comey like a victim, attempting to intimidate prosecutors and defense attorneys who refuse to toe their line. That’s not justice—that’s corruption disguised as activism. The American people should demand better from their elected officials.
