Senator J.D. Vance from Ohio put a major roadblock in the way of Joe Biden’s plan to stack the Department of Justice (DOJ) with his own politically motivated picks. By blocking the appointment of officials through unanimous consent, Vance is forcing the Senate to debate and carefully consider each nominee, with the added possibility of a Republican filibuster. Take that, Democrats!

In a video shared online, Vance made it clear that he’s not playing games with the Biden administration. He’s not going to allow them to use the DOJ as a tool to target political opponents. Speaking from the Senate floor, Vance called out Senator Dick Durbin from Illinois for having the audacity to complain about the fentanyl crisis. Vance pointed out that it’s actually Biden’s border policies that have allowed this dangerous drug to flood into our country.
But Vance wasn’t done there. He reminded his colleagues that the previous unanimous consents for DOJ nominees were approved before the DOJ became a weapon in the hands of a vindictive president. He stressed that he objects to the nomination process because it’s turning our country into a banana republic, where the president can target his political rivals and throw them in prison.
Ending on a hopeful note, Vance made it clear that he’s not opposed to approving nominations through unanimous consent if the DOJ prioritizes law over politics. But as long as Biden and his cronies continue to use their power to go after political opponents, Vance will continue to object. Bravo, Senator Vance!
The conservative Republican congressman Matt Gaetz also voiced his support for Vance’s actions. It seems that Republicans are starting to take a stand against the Biden-run government’s radical agenda. Just like Senator Tommy Tuberville from Alabama, who has been blocking hundreds of senior military nominations to put pressure on the Biden-run Department of Defense to reverse its outrageous pro-abortion policy. Enough is enough!
