On a recent MSNBC show, Representative Jim Himes made some rather melodramatic comments about President Biden. Himes seemed to think it was “sick” that people are actually paying attention to Biden’s speeches and rallies. Because, you know, apparently, it’s a crime to expect the President of the United States to perform well in public. Heaven forbid we hold the leader of our country to any sort of standard of competence!
Himes went on to praise Biden’s foreign policy skills, as if that’s supposed to make up for everything else. Sure, foreign policy is important, but it’s not like Biden gets a free pass on everything else just because he did okay in that area. Being President isn’t a one-dimensional job, no matter how much Himes would like to narrow it down to just one aspect.
Simply amazing how aware they have become after the world seen their cover-up on the debate stage. Now trying to cover-up the hoax they created.

And then, Himes launched into this whole dramatic monologue about the intense stress of being President, as if no one else could possibly understand the pressure. Yes, we get it, being President is tough. But that’s exactly why we should be concerned about Biden’s ability to handle the job effectively. It’s not about giving a good press conference, it’s about being up to the challenge of making crucial decisions for the country, even in the middle of the night when crises strike.
In the end, Himes wants us to believe that we should just trust that Biden will somehow rise to the occasion when faced with major challenges. But it’s not about blind faith, it’s about holding our leaders accountable and making sure they are truly up to the task. So, maybe instead of trying to guilt trip people for expecting the President to do his job well, Himes should focus on the real issues at hand.
