Jim Jordan Blasts Coordinated “Lawfare” Against Trump by Deep State Elite

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan leveled a blunt accusation on The Record with Greta Van Susteren, saying that former intelligence and law-enforcement officials like John Brennan, James Clapper, James Comey and even special counsel Jack Smith engaged in a coordinated campaign of “lawfare” against President Donald Trump. Jordan warned that what Americans are seeing is not the impartial application of justice but a political apparatus weaponized to take down a political rival.

Jordan didn’t stop at rhetoric — he demanded answers and accountability, pressing for Jack Smith to appear before Congress and hand over documents related to the prosecutions of President Trump. House Republicans have formally requested testimony from Smith and materials tied to his appointment and communications with the Biden Justice Department, insisting this was not routine law enforcement but a politically motivated prosecution.

New revelations only deepen the concerns. Reporting shows that Smith’s probe was tied to troubling surveillance activity, including the collection of cellphone tolling data for eight Republican senators, a step that should alarm every American who values privacy and separation of powers. If true, this is not oversight — it’s intimidation of elected officials and a preview of what happens when the state has no accountability.

Jordan also welcomed scrutiny into former intelligence chiefs Comey and Clapper, pointing to the now-infamous January 2017 Trump Tower briefing and the intelligence dossier that spawned years of baseless investigations. Conservatives have long argued that the Steele dossier and the actions of the intelligence community created a false narrative used to justify surveillance and prosecutions, and Jordan’s comments underscore the need to reopen those facts.

There’s a growing GOP push to stop the politicization of prosecutions, including proposals to rein in or even defund special counsel offices that act as partisan tools rather than neutral arbiters of justice. Law-abiding Americans cannot stand by while prosecutors and agencies pick winners and losers in our political life; Congress has a duty to restore balance and enforce boundaries.

Let’s be clear: this isn’t just about one president or one party. It’s about the weaponization of institutions that are supposed to protect our liberties, not undermine them. Patriots should demand independent, equal justice for all and support vigorous oversight to prevent any future administration from using federal power to silence dissent or destroy political opponents.

The time for complacency is over — whether you voted for Trump or not, the principle at stake is the rule of law free from partisan corruption. Stand with those who insist on accountability, back congressional oversight, and make sure Washington knows that hardworking Americans will not tolerate a federal bureaucracy turned into a political hit squad.
