U.S. District Judge Tanya S. Chutkan just couldn’t resist flexing her power and shutting down former President Donald Trump’s request to delay a hearing until next week. Instead, she set the hearing for Friday morning, clearly not giving Trump’s legal team the time they needed.
Trump’s attorneys had simply asked for a postponement until Monday or Tuesday, a reasonable request. But Judge Chutkan, appointed by the oh-so-liberal Obama, had other plans. She had asked for Trump and special counsel Jack Smith to choose a date of Friday or earlier, trapping them with limited options.
Of course, Trump won’t even be present at the hearing. He’s got better things to do than waste his time in a courtroom, like planning his triumphant return to the White House. Instead, he’s sending in his trusty attorneys John Lauro and Todd Blanche to handle the situation.
Unfortunately, Blanche won’t be available on Thursday because he’s got another case in Florida. But hey, who cares about schedules and conflicts when there’s a former president to take down? At least Lauro might be able to grace the court with his presence on Thursday afternoon.

Meanwhile, the prosecutors are showing off, saying they could be available on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. Isn’t it just so convenient for them to have such flexibility?
It’s clear that Trump’s attorneys are being backed into a corner here. They didn’t even acknowledge Wednesday as an option and “lost” Friday without giving a reason. Maybe they didn’t want to give Judge Chutkan the satisfaction.
But we all know what this is really about. Chutkan is just another Obama lackey trying to stick it to Trump. And what does Trump do? He takes to his favorite social media platform, Truth Social, to call her out. He’s not afraid to expose the truth, even if it ruffles a few feathers.
The hearing itself is just a dispute over a protective order, but it’s clear that the prosecution is trying to silence Trump. They claim they have a “substantial” amount of discovery, but come on, we all know they’re just trying to hide the truth. Trump’s right to free speech is at stake here, and it’s outrageous that Chutkan doesn’t see that.
But hey, who needs fairness and justice when you have a judge appointed by Obama and a liberal agenda to push? Trump will come out on top, as he always does. And when he does, he’ll show them all what a real president looks like.
