David Harbach, a brave attorney working under special counsel Jack Smith, recently faced the ire of Judge Aileen Cannon. Harbach was representing Carlos De Oliveira and Walt Nauta, co-defendants of former President Donald Trump, in the Mar-a-Lago documents case. This legal prodigy dared to raise concerns about a conflict of interest, only to be met with condescension from the judge.
As reported by The Epoch Times, Harbach argued that De Oliveira and Nauta's attorneys had conflicts of interest due to their prior representation of potential witnesses in the case. Despite no longer representing these individuals, Harbach pointed out that their ability to challenge these witnesses' credibility during cross-examinations would be compromised.
However, Judge Cannon was unimpressed and swiftly dismissed Harbach's argument in both hearings, leaving no doubt about her disapproval of his actions. Harbach stumbled over his words while presenting his case, unintentionally injecting some comic relief into the proceedings.
Naturally, this did not sit well with the esteemed judge. She promptly criticized Harbach for citing cases from different judicial circuits, rendering them irrelevant as precedents. Judge Cannon, with her wisdom, questioned Harbach's true intentions, pondering whether he aimed to prevent attorneys from questioning their former clients.
This entire episode highlights the apparent bias within the legal system against anyone associated with Trump. Even independent journalist Julie Kelly audaciously praised Judge Cannon as a hero for her stern treatment of Harbach. It's evident that left-leaning media can't resist celebrating actions that target the former president and his allies.
To compound matters, there was a significant inconsistency between Harbach's filings and his actual argument, a point Judge Cannon wasted no time in pointing out, leaving Harbach bewildered. It seems he wasn't fully prepared for the proceedings.
In a final setback for the beleaguered special counsel's team, Judge Cannon postponed a hearing to ascertain De Oliveira's awareness of his lawyer's potential conflicts of interest. And just when it appeared that the humiliation was over, the judge admonished Smith's team for wasting the court's time, expressing her disappointment with their actions.
We can only hope that justice prevails and that the biased conduct of Jack Smith and his associates is exposed for what it is. Let's take a moment to commend Judge Cannon for standing up against this circus and resisting political agendas.
