The left is clearly in a panic as Donald Trump’s second inauguration looms on the horizon, and a scrutiny of recent behavior in the judicial branch reveals a desperate bid to maintain influence. As time ticks down to January, with the Democrats losing control of both the executive and legislative branches, their focus has shifted to what remains: the judiciary. Now, some judges are reversing their retirements, showcasing a clear attempt by politically motivated jurists to thwart the incoming administration.
In a striking display of partisan maneuvering, certain federal judges have “unretired,” a rather peculiar trend not seen frequently in the history of American judiciary. As the Republican party prepares to reclaim control, these judges have suddenly found a reason to stick around. Notably, Ohio’s Algenon Marbley and North Carolina’s Max Cogburn had previously announced retirement plans. After the recent election, however, they’ve decided that hanging up their robes can wait, raising eyebrows and sparking frustration among GOP leaders.
