Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign, despite raising more than a whopping $1.5 billion in just three months, flagellated itself right out of the race. Now questions are swirling around the great disappearing act of those Democrat dollars. Perhaps the golden touch isn’t quite what it seems when Chicago’s former golden girl was set to take the throne.
Among the eyebrow-raising expenditures, a staggering $2.5 million has been revealed as the cost for a town hall event hosted by Oprah Winfrey in Michigan, contrary to earlier assumptions that it was a paltry million. With celebrity endorsements flying around like confetti at a Fourth of July parade, Harris’s campaign somehow managed to drop several million more on other well-known faces, a sincere apology for what could be seen as a disastrous marketing strategy, as it turns out “all the stars” did not align for Harris in the end.
What Makes No Sense. Kamala Harris paid $2.5 Million to the Oprah production company to host a Town Hall.#Trump #KamalaHarris pic.twitter.com/2zZUhamye6

The Houston-native talk show titan and self-proclaimed queen of the screen may not have put the entire amount in her personal bank account, but her production company, Harpo, still orchestrated a financially exuberant event. Harris’ camp ostensibly paid for the town hall’s essentials such as cameras, lights, and all the fancy bells and whistles just to convince voters that the world was behind her. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t.
In the wake of the electoral fallout, Harris’s campaign stands not only as a glaring example of how to throw money at a losing effort but also leaves behind a debt roughly estimated at $20 million. After spending like there was no tomorrow, the Democratic Party is now scrambling to pay the bill, right as the drumroll for the next election cycle begins. Honestly, one could almost hear the cash register ringing with every six-figure check disbursed to consultants who probably haven’t performed a miracle since, well, never.
With Harris’ extravagant advertisements and costly celebrity line-ups, one would expect a corresponding upward spike in voter affection. Instead, voters – overlooking the melodramatic cries from the glitterati – decisively voted for former President Trump. Who would have thought that the American electorate would take a hard pass on a showbiz extravaganza in favor of policies that cut taxes and prioritize security? Perhaps the lesson here is that glitz and glam won’t save a sinking campaign, especially when the voter base sees through the smoke and mirrors.
