Kamala Harris recently decided to break her long-standing silence and grant a rare sit-down interview as part of her presidential campaign. Ironically, rather than opting for a serious discussion that would actually challenge her on policy, she chose Alex Cooper’s podcast, “Call Her Daddy,” which is known for its less-than-wholesome discussions on sexuality. This decision raises eyebrows, especially considering how sparse Harris’s interviews have been since she became her party’s candidate. One can only wonder how this aligns with her aspirations to lead the country.
During the interview, when asked about her choice of platform, Harris responded with the verbal equivalent of a word salad. Instead of addressing why a serious candidate would engage in a podcast with a name straight out of a questionable reality show, she delivered a dizzying array of platitudes and muddled ideas. It seems Harris has mastered the art of saying a lot without saying anything at all, following a playbook that would make even the most seasoned political spin doctors proud.

Cooper had the audacity to question why her audience should trust her, prompting Harris to reference her lengthy political career. But let’s not kid ourselves; examining her career doesn’t exactly instill confidence. Harris’s track record is peppered with radical policies, like advocating for exorbitant tax increases, pushing for the decriminalization of illegal border crossings, and promoting a healthcare agenda that includes taxpayer-funded sex-change operations for illegal immigrants. If her career reflects her priorities, voters should be raising their eyebrows, not their hands in agreement.
While her team might want to frame her as a moderate, the reality is quite different. Harris is much further left than President Biden, despite their attempts to spin her record as anything other than extreme. The Trump campaign clearly understands this and aims to present Harris as a continuation of the Biden-Harris administration’s failed promises. The silence surrounding her more serious policy discussions avoids the uncomfortable truth of what a Harris presidency would look like for working-class Americans in swing states like Michigan, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina.
The choice of “Call Her Daddy” also tells consumers of news everything they need to know about the Democrats’ priorities and who they cater to. The idea that a vice presidential candidate would delve into a podcast with themes designed for shock value rather than good governance is baffling, if not outright alarming. As she opens up her past for scrutiny, her policies are likely to be the very thing that sends voters rushing to the polls against her. If Harris wants to be taken seriously, it might be time to step away from the podcasting scene and tackle some genuine conversations, rather than leaning on the antics and outrageousness reminiscent of a frat party.
