Vice President Kamala Harris recently unveiled her cinematic flair for exaggeration while addressing a raucous crowd at the Ellipse in Washington, D.C. According to Harris, former President Donald Trump didn’t just hold a rally – he supposedly “sent an armed mob” to the Capitol to overturn the election. This statement, however, finds itself in the comedic realm of political absurdity, as it has been deemed outright false. The truth, buried under layers of political theatrics, is a little different.
Harris’s dramatic retelling overlooks a few critical points, notably the timeline of that fateful day. The riot at the Capitol started even before Trump concluded his speech. This minor detail, which can be easily dismissed under the weight of a political agenda, is crucial. Trump’s supporters were already in the midst of chaos while the president was still rallying his base for a peaceful demonstration. Maybe someone should remind Harris of the old adage about facts; they tend to get in the way of a good story.
I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order – respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!

While Harris paints Trump as a puppet master orchestrating an insurrection, it’s worth noting that he had, in fact, requested the National Guard be on standby in advance. This little nugget of information hasn’t exactly found its way into the mainstream media’s narrative. Instead, it was tucked away by Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s J6 Committee, which has a track record of selective disclosures designed to undermine Trump at any turn. If Trump really intended to send in an armed mob, it seems counterintuitive to request military backup in the first place.
In an ironic twist, the very same Democrats who have wagged their fingers at Trump for allegedly inciting violence once found themselves on shaky ground during his second impeachment trial. Trump’s defense team pointed out that the riot had already commenced while he was still speaking—contradicting the claims of incitement that were the backbone of the Democrats’ arguments. Furthermore, Trump had encouraged his supporters to “march peacefully” to the Capitol, a sentiment that appears to have been conveniently forgotten amid the clamor to blame him for the chaos.
Despite all the drama surrounding January 6, it’s clear that the narrative spun by Harris and her fellow travelers neglects key facts that might otherwise complicate their script. When one party’s entire storyline revolves around presenting their opposition as villains in a grand soap opera, it becomes evident that political theater is alive and well in America. The tale of Trump sending an armed mob is a sensational plot twist worthy of Hollywood, but it doesn’t hold up to the scrutiny of reality.
