Los Angeles is burning — but apparently, it’s a glorious victory if you’re Mayor Karen Bass. When President Trump ordered federalized National Guard troops into the city to stop the lawlessness, Bass screamed defeat and paraded the partial troop withdrawal as some kind of triumph for the “peaceful protests.” What a joke. This isn’t strength—it’s surrender dressed up in leftist spin.
The troops didn’t leave because the riots won. They left because half of them had already done the hard work of restoring order and were being redeployed elsewhere. But don’t expect the radical mayor to acknowledge that simple fact. Instead, she celebrates the pullback like it’s a revolution, even as hundreds of soldiers and Marines remain in place defending federal property and supporting Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Make no mistake, the violence only stopped because of Trump’s tough, no-nonsense law enforcement action, not some kumbaya moment dreamed up by the radical left.
Karen Bass’s demands to halt ICE raids amid the chaos reveal the true radical heart behind the politician who so often tries to hide her communist sympathies. She’s openly praised dictators like Fidel Castro and has shown a disturbing admiration for Marxist regimes. It’s no surprise she sees lawlessness as a “victory.” To her and her left-wing allies, America’s borders need to be open, and federal authority must be weakened to usher in an anarchic utopia where crime and chaos play a part of daily life.

Meanwhile, American voters are far from cheering the mayor’s empty boasts. Her approval ratings have plummeted as citizens nationwide back President Trump’s firm response to the riots. The vast majority support the deployment of the National Guard to keep our cities safe and to protect federal law enforcement from radical mobs trying to intimidate and dismantle immigration enforcement. Weakness only emboldens the lawbreakers, and Bass’s so-called triumph has only fueled the fire for more disorder.
The left can dress up their defeats as victories all they want, but the truth remains clear: law and order is non-negotiable in this country. If the federal government fails to act decisively, cities become battlegrounds—hostages to progressive mayors who care more about pleasing left-wing mobs than protecting their citizens. So here’s a question for the “Comandante” of chaos herself: is it a win when your leadership invites lawlessness and intimidation to reign supreme? Or is it just another sad chapter in the long decline of American greatness under radical left rule?
