Former President Trump continues to face political persecution with the prediction of a fifth indictment looming over him. Kari Lake, a former Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate, believes that Trump will be indicted in Arizona “ASAP” due to his questioning of the state’s election integrity. Lake took to Twitter to express her thoughts on the matter, accusing the “Deep State” of orchestrating the indictment as a distraction for the media. In response, current Democratic Governor Katie Hobbs voiced her support for an indictment, stating that holding those accountable for overturning the 2020 election is essential.

These continued indictments come as Trump already faces 91 felony charges in four separate indictments, which he staunchly denies, referring to them as a “witch hunt.” Trump’s skepticism regarding the election results in Arizona can be traced back to the swing state’s switch from a Trump win in 2016 to a Biden victory in 2020. Kari Lake highlighted Hobbs’ alleged role in a “sham election” and criticized her use of the office to push for Trump’s indictment and challenge the legitimacy of grassroots Arizonans.
Lake also drew attention to the suspicious timing of the indictments, pointing out that they often coincide with news stories about President Biden and his son Hunter’s alleged corrupt business dealings. According to her, the pattern suggests a deliberate attempt to divert attention away from the Bidens’ controversies.
