In an unexpected twist during Tuesday’s press briefing, John Kirby, the administration’s spokesperson, refused to label individuals making violent anti-Semitic threats in the country as “domestic terrorists.” The question came from Fox News reporter Peter Doocy, who had previously put Karine Jean-Pierre on the spot with a similar inquiry. Holding the administration accountable, Doocy asked, “Are the people in this country making violent anti-Semitic threats, are they domestic terrorists?” It’s worth mentioning that the administration has been investigating conservative Catholics as “domestic terrorists.”

Kirby’s response was cautious, as he stated, “I don’t know that we’re classifying people as domestic terrorists for that. That’s really a question better left to law enforcement. I’m not aware that there’s been such a characterization of that.” While Kirby didn’t explicitly label them as domestic terrorists, he hinted at the role of law enforcement in making such determinations.
This development comes amidst mounting tension due to pro-Hamas protests taking place across the country. Many Americans find it concerning that the administration is not directly addressing the serious nature of anti-Semitic threats. The refusal to unequivocally label these individuals as domestic terrorists has sparked frustration among citizens, who question the administration’s approach to combating such threats.
Once again, the Biden administration shows its lack of commitment to protecting the American people. While conservative Catholics are being unfairly targeted as domestic terrorists, the administration hesitates to address the real threat posed by those making violent anti-Semitic threats. This double standard is deeply concerning and reveals the administration’s biased priorities. The safety and security of American citizens should be the utmost concern, regardless of the identity or ideology of those perpetrating violence and hatred. It’s time for the administration to take a strong stance against anti-Semitism and designate these individuals as the domestic terrorists they truly are.
