The CEO of MyPillow, Mike Lindell, is being accused of "discovery abuse" after his lawyers tried three times to take his deposition. In a court document, lawyers for Dr. Eric Coomer, Dominion's Director of Product Strategy and Security, asked Lindell, who is being sued for defamation by both Coomer and Newsmax, to give a deposition. Coomer says that Lindell's claims that Dominion voting machines were used to mess with the election hurt his reputation.

After Coomer's lawyers filed a move to force Lindell to testify in court, recordings from two of the attempted depositions that took place in March were put online. The tapes show how hostile Lindell is toward Coomer's lawyer, as he insults and dismisses him over and over again. According to the lawyer's filing, Lindell's last interview in August was cut short when he left the witness chair during an unplanned break and continued to disrespect counsel.
In answer to the filing, Coomer wants the court or the Magistrate Judge in Denver, Colorado, to order Lindell to show up. Coomer also wants Lindell to pay his lawyer's fees and costs for allegedly misusing evidence. During the interview, Lindell was warned that if she didn't answer questions, she might have to pay more in attorney's fees. Lindell fought back by saying that people like Coomer had cost his company "tens or hundreds of millions of dollars" in loses.
Lindell is a big fan of former President Donald Trump, so it shouldn't be a surprise that he keeps making false claims about election fraud even though they have been debunked many times and he has lost in court. Even though it's important to respect the legal process and give everyone a chance to look at the evidence carefully, Lindell's actions during the depositions make me wonder about his credibility and desire to work with others in a positive way. This ongoing legal fight is a good reminder of how dangerous it is to spread false information and how it can hurt both people and companies.
