The left’s latest attempt at manufactured outrage involves country singer Jason Aldean and his song “Not in My Small Town.” The leftists seemed to have taken a few months to realize they were offended by it. Maybe their calendars were just slow, who knows? Anyway, instead of focusing on the actual video, they decided to direct their anger towards the lyrics. But here’s the thing: the lyrics aren’t offensive or racist in any way. They simply speak to the majority of Americans who oppose violence and refuse to give in to mindless mobs. It’s about small town values and the resilience of those who live outside the liberal bubble. But to the left, anything that doesn’t align with their agenda is automatically labeled as racist, even if it has nothing to do with race.

Of course, the usual suspects from the left-wing media jumped on the bandwagon. Sunny Hostin from “The View” decided to lecture Georgians on what they should and shouldn’t be offended by, even though she has spent her entire life in New York City. Then there’s Sheryl Crow, whose claim to fame is one song and being Lance Armstrong’s girlfriend. Yeah, she’s definitely qualified to lecture Aldean on social ethics. And let’s not forget Jason Isbell, a self-admitted leftist who wants to take away our guns and thinks abortion on demand is totally fine. He criticized Aldean without even bothering to have a conversation with him first. How brave.
But here’s the real kicker: Isbell’s music is full of angst and darkness. His lyrics are about as uplifting as a rainy day. So while he’s busy attacking Aldean for a song that actually has a positive and empowering message, the irony of his own music is completely lost on him. Maybe he should take a break from tweeting and try listening to his own songs for once.
In the end, Aldean has stood his ground and refused to apologize. And that’s exactly what the left can’t handle. They’re used to celebrities caving to their demands and begging for forgiveness. But not this time. Aldean has shown them that he won’t back down, and it’s driving them crazy. So go ahead, leftists, keep trying to manufacture outrage. All you’re doing is making us conservatives even more determined to fight for what we believe in. Congrats.
