In a world that so desperately cries for peace, the recent celebrations in Gaza and Israel are a testament to the triumph of diplomacy and leadership. Yet, as many of us would conclude, there will always be detractors from the side of the Left, clinging to their same old narratives even in the face of good news. Unite under a common cause of peace and cheer, we hear the cries of the bitter few. Perhaps they were blindsided by a goal now met, a ceasefire they’ve been demanding but are unwilling to embrace.
What better example than the London protests stirred up during this ceasefire achievement? When presented with a step towards peace, the so-called “activists” cannot celebrate alongside the jubilant crowds in the streets of Gaza. They insist that a pause in hostilities is not the same as liberation, but liberation from whom — the oppressive governance of Hamas or the alleged orchestrations of Israel? The lack of clarity in their mission only underlines their true intentions: to keep the flames of division burning for the sake of protest itself.

Hamas, ever the disruptors of peace, are not rejoicing like their people. Instead, they’re eliminating their rivals within. If the pro-Palestinian voices truly cared about the well-being of Palestinians, they would turn their attention—and their marches—toward the oppressive grip of Hamas. It’s a familiar tale: when something good happens, the Left resorts to finding shadows in the sunlight. Meanwhile, the people they claim to champion remain caught in the web of their virtue signaling and hypocrisy.
Consider the noise made by some artists and influencers. They rant against the Israeli lobby while actively spreading misguided and incendiary views against Israel. These are the same voices insisting that this peace deal is a mere deception. Yet, in their rage, they turn a blind eye to the atrocities committed by Palestine’s own leaders. If compassion is their claim, their actions do not match the rhetoric. Reality is inconvenient for those whose activism is more performance than substance.
What we’ve learned from this contrasting chorus of celebration and criticism is simple: the pro-peace rhetoric from these Leftist allies lacks the substance of genuine concern. This ceasefire is a sharp reminder of who truly desires peace and who sees it only as a stepping stone to their ultimate agenda. One must ask: is it peace they want, or simply power over a narrative they’ve controlled for far too long?
