The mismanagement in Kerr County, Texas, is beyond disgraceful. Over the Independence Day weekend, deadly floods hit while critical officials were nowhere to be found. It’s like they were giving the flood a green light to sweep through the heart of the Texas Hill Country. How did we get here? Blame it on the same kind of dysfunction that’s all too common among government systems plagued by liberal mismanagement.
The Kerr County Emergency Management Coordinator was under the weather and asleep. Can we really fault a man for catching a bug? No. But what’s infuriating is that his colleagues knew he was out of commission and still failed to respond. Where was the backup? The sheriff wasn’t alerted until after floodwaters rampaged, and another key figure was off relaxing at a lake house. It’s amateur hour, folks.
In the business world, they call it a chain of command. If A can’t step up, B takes over, and if B is MIA, C is ready to roll. Apparently, Kerr County hasn’t gotten that memo. You’d think after the liberal elite have taxed and regulated us into oblivion, they’d at least have a basic hierarchy in place for emergencies.

As the fallout from this debacle unfolds, expect liberals to twist themselves into knots trying to cover for it. They’ll claim climate change did it. They’ll spew rhetoric about needing more government oversight. Enough already. This disaster was avoidable, plain and simple. Who will be held accountable? Only time will tell, but you can count on the people of Texas to demand answers.
Why do we continue to see American lives endangered by an unaccountable government? Maybe it’s time to rethink who’s got their hands on the steering wheel in our communities. Because clearly, when put to the test, the liberals just can’t handle the heat. Or in this case, the flood.
