Liberal Judge Crawford Wins Wisconsin Supreme Court Race Sparking GOP Concerns

In a development that has Wisconsin conservatives shaking their heads, liberal Judge Susan Crawford clutched victory in the state’s Supreme Court race a mere hour after polls closed Tuesday night. With a 58 percent to 42 percent finish over Republican-backed Brad Schimel, voters must have been mesmerized by the shiny glow of Crawford’s Democratic endorsements and the opaque flood of out-of-state cash that seems to pour into every leftist campaign.

It’s almost as if Wisconsin was the stage for a dramatic remake of “The Wizard of Oz,” with Crawford playing the role of the Wicked Witch, supported by her allies in the Democrat establishment. Notably, the liberal majority on the court remains intact, furthering their agenda in a state that once prided itself on swing politics. As if the ink wasn’t dry on the previous ruling, where liberal Judge Janet Protasiewicz stole away a seat in April 2023, the left has once again conjured up a win that looks eerily familiar.

Despite the mighty efforts of big names like President Donald Trump, former Governor Scott Walker, and even Elon Musk, the Wisconsin electorate was apparently not swayed. It’s hard to reconcile this result with the assurances from Walker and others warning about Crawford’s Soros-backed campaign. The rise of a judge who receives a hefty check from outside the state ought to send shivers down the spine of any patriotic American concerned with local control and accountability.

Republican fears aren’t just about losing a battle but potentially losing ground for the war. With the liberal majority in place, the left’s ambitions include redrawing Congressional lines in a way that could cost Republicans two key seats. For those keeping score, that’s not just a loss on the court; it’s a double whammy that further tiptoes toward a Democratic takeover in a state critical to national elections. Rep. Derrick Van Orden, representing Wisconsin’s 3rd District, has expressed his legitimate concerns about the repercussions, noting that a court skewed left can pave the way for a serious partisan power shift through redistricting.

However, not all the news from Wisconsin is doom and gloom. In a delightful twist, voters rallied behind a crucial ballot initiative requiring voter ID. Clearly, common-sense measures still have a fighting chance. Initial reports showed overwhelming support for voter ID, with nearly 70 percent of the early votes casting a clear statement in favor of securing election integrity. This aspect sheds a glimmer of hope for Republicans as they battle to maintain foundational democratic processes in a state that appears to be tilting ever more leftward.

On another front, Florida Republicans experienced some wins of their own. Special elections were held, paving the way for State Senator Randy Fine and CFO Jimmy Patronis to take their respective seats, effectively replacing former Representatives Mike Waltz and Matt Gaetz. As Wisconsin falters under the weight of liberal governance, the GOP in Florida maintains a strong grip, highlighting the contrasting political climates within their borders. This juxtaposition offers a crucial reminder that while backroom deals and vote manipulation may prevail in some states, others are still grounded in the principle of fair elections.
