CBS News has boldly claimed that Harris’ proposal to eliminate taxes on tips is a fresh idea aimed at helping the working class. The story aimed to paint her in a positive light, suggesting that she genuinely cares about the American worker. This, of course, comes just after the Biden-Harris administration has been busy flinging inflation at everyday Americans and facilitating an influx of illegal immigrants that only exacerbates the job crisis. The notion that this administration genuinely fights for American families is a punchline worthy of late-night comedy. History has shown that their policies have worked more to undermine these very families rather than uplift them.
The media’s double standard became even clearer when Republicans swooped in to point out that Harris’s so-called innovation had been borrowed directly from Trump. In stark contrast to the enthusiastic reporting when Harris announced her plan, CBS previously wrapped Trump’s similar proposal in fearmongering, warning that his initiative could result in a $250 billion loss for the federal government over ten years. The difference in tone could not be more telling, as if CBS suddenly found a heart for Harris and decided to bury its head in the sand regarding the fiscal implications of her plan.
Meanwhile, MSNBC’s approach reached a level of absurdity rarely seen outside of a sitcom. Only weeks prior, they dismissed Trump’s idea as a “scam,” but when Harris adopted the same position, the term mysteriously vanished. Instead, Harris was heralded for her groundbreaking stance. Clearly, for these media elites, words and principles hold less weight than loyalty to the tribe – a tribe that finds itself increasingly fond of Harris while keeping Trump at arm’s length.
This all boils down to one core reality: the establishment media is not motivated by principles or truth; it’s a game of power dynamics. Harris represents the insiders who play by leftist rules, while Trump is the perennial outsider who frightens the elites. The mainstream media gravitates towards those who validate their worldview and push their agenda, leaving the genuine concerns of average Americans in the dust.
