The image, which depicts the young man riding a caricatured version of Trump like a horse, is sparking new questions about his political affiliations and directly undercuts efforts by some in the media to tie him to the MAGA movement. Even though Trump is the sitting president, the press seemed eager to paint this suspect as a supporter rather than someone who once publicly ridiculed him.
What stands out is the speed with which liberal media outlets rushed to push their preferred narrative before the facts were clear. Instead of investigating the shooter’s true background, anti-Trump pundits immediately speculated about MAGA ties. This resurfaced costume—clearly mocking the president—shows just how desperate some are to blame every violent act on Trump supporters, even when evidence suggests the opposite. It’s another reminder of the media’s hostility toward the president and anyone who supports him.
This tactic has become predictable: in the wake of tragedy, the blame is pivoted toward conservatives and Trump voters. Facts clearly matter less to the media than protecting their narrative.
