In an effort to erase “wokeness” from the Virginia General Assembly, a radical liberal push is underway to strike the term “alien” from the state code to describe noncitizens. The bill sponsor, Democratic Virginia Del. Alfonso Lopez, is leading the charge to eradicate this common-sense terminology that has been used for decades.
Lopez, who clearly has a lot of time on his hands, claims that removing the term is a crucial step in combating the supposed “demonization” of noncitizens. In a stunning display of liberal absurdity, he argued that the term is “outdated” and reflects prejudices that most Virginians do not hold today. It’s like he’s living in an alternate universe where common sense and reality don’t exist.

In a classic act of liberal grandstanding, Lopez even took to social media to explain the new legislation, as if anyone actually cares. The bill attempts to replace the term “alien” with convoluted and euphemistic language throughout the Code of Virginia, as if changing the name of something will solve real problems.
Lopez’s relentless quest to erase basic terminology doesn’t end there. He’s also pushing to remove the term “illegal immigrant” from the Virginia code, claiming that it is dehumanizing and has no place in our daily vocabulary. It’s as if he believes that by changing the name, he can somehow erase the underlying issues related to illegal immigration.
In a shocking display of liberal insanity, this bill actually passed the Virginia House and is now being considered by the Virginia Senate. It’s like the state legislature has turned into a theater of the absurd, where pandering to the far-left has become the norm. Let’s hope the Senate comes to its senses and rejects this ridiculous attempt to erase reality.
