The Center Square recently reported on the debate over social media policies in school districts around the country, and it looks like the left has gone too far this time. In Denver, the school district’s policy review revealed an outrageous restriction on employees’ ability to control their own social media accounts. The nerve! The board insists that no one can stop others from seeing, posting, or commenting on public school social media pages. What about free speech for the employees, huh? It’s like they don’t even care about the teachers’ feelings.
And it’s not just Denver causing a ruckus. In Gladstone, Oregon, a mother is standing up against the school district for suppressing her speech. The Liberty Justice Center, a heroic defender of free speech, has come to her aid in demanding that the school district obey the First Amendment. How dare they try to silence a concerned parent! The district is accused of holding back the mother’s posts on a public Facebook group and making her jump through hoops to speak at school board meetings. It’s just not right – those in power should be open to criticism, just like the rest of us!
School districts around the country are facing issues with how they handle their social media accounts, and the debate has reached the U.S. Supreme Court. https://t.co/y2EgAERvdO

But the insanity doesn’t stop there. Over in San Diego County, some school board members are under fire for blocking critics on their personal social media accounts. The nerve of those critics! The U.S. Supreme Court has even gotten involved, ultimately ruling that public officials can block their critics on social media. Phew, at least there’s still some common sense in the world.
It’s clear that these school districts are overreaching and stifling the voices of concerned citizens. The First Amendment is under attack, and it’s up to us to stand up against the radical left’s censorship. Let’s hope these school districts come to their senses and recognize the fundamental right to free speech. The future of our democracy depends on it.
