Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey is taking a stand for the privacy and rights of Americans by initiating a probe into Liberty Safe. Why, you ask? Well, it appears that this company shamefully provided the FBI with a customer’s private safe code. Can you believe it? This blatant disregard for personal privacy should have every freedom-loving conservative up in arms.
Here’s the scoop: Liberty Safe, in an act of betrayal, handed over a six-digit code to the FBI that belonged to Nathan Hughes. Mr. Hughes is just an ordinary citizen from Arkansas who had his home raided by a swarm of agents because of the audacity to trespass in the hallowed halls of the U.S. Capitol. Two years later, mind you! Liberty Safe had the audacity to claim that they were just following their “company protocol” and that if the FBI had a warrant, they had every right to access customers’ property. Well, isn’t that just peachy?
As expected, conservative audiences were not happy with Liberty Safe’s betrayal. Former customers swiftly organized a boycott of the company, sending a clear message that they will not stand for this betrayal of their trust. And honestly, who can blame them? We rely on companies like Liberty Safe to protect our most valuable possessions, not to cave in to the demands of federal agents who seem to have lost all respect for the Constitution.
Thankfully, Attorney General Bailey is not willing to let Liberty Safe off the hook. He is taking legal action against the company, rightly pointing out that the FBI did not possess a court order to demand the safe’s combination in the first place. Furthermore, Bailey is investigating whether Liberty Safe has been honest with its customers about sharing their safe combinations with third parties. Good for him! We need more defenders of privacy and fewer companies willing to sell out their fellow Americans just to appease federal bureaucrats.

Bailey perfectly captures the sentiment of many conservatives when he says, “In an era where the federal government weaponizes our national security apparatus against political opponents, the last thing we need is for a private company to sell out its fellow Americans under pressure.” These words ring true. We are living in a time when our freedoms are under attack, and we cannot afford to have companies like Liberty Safe capitulating to the demands of an overreaching government.
Kudos to Attorney General Bailey for standing up for the rights of all Missourians. By opening this investigation, he is sending a clear message that Liberty Safe must be held accountable for its actions and that the privacy of Americans should never be compromised. Let’s hope this serves as a wake-up call not just for Liberty Safe, but for all companies who dare to betray their loyal customers in the pursuit of appeasing federal bureaucrats.
