LSU freshman running back JT Lindsey threw away his football dreams when he decided to harbor two murder suspects in his college dorm. The 18-year-old turned himself in to campus police on August 8th after being charged with two felony counts of accessory after the fact to second-degree murder. This young man had everything going for him as a four-star recruit but chose to help dangerous criminals instead.
Lindsey allowed 17-year-old Shemell Jacobs and 18-year-old Keldrick Jordan to hide in his LSU dorm room for nearly two weeks starting in late July. These two thugs were wanted for murdering 17-year-old Corey Brooks in Alexandria, Louisiana back in May. When U.S. Marshals finally caught them on August 4th, they found a shocking arsenal of weapons including two AR-15 rifles, a Draco, and a Glock pistol.
The excuses started flying immediately through Lindsey’s lawyer who claimed his client had no idea his friends were wanted for murder. Police say that’s complete nonsense because an associate told investigators that Lindsey knew exactly what his buddies had done. You don’t hide murder suspects and stockpile weapons by accident.
This case shows what happens when young people make terrible choices and refuse to take responsibility. Instead of focusing on his football career and education, Lindsey decided to help violent criminals escape justice. He put every student on that campus in danger by bringing armed murderers into the dorms.
A 17-year-old boy named Corey Brooks lost his life to these killers that Lindsey decided to protect. While this victim’s family grieves, Lindsey was busy playing host to their son’s murderers. There’s no excuse for choosing criminals over doing what’s right.
The liberal media will probably try to make Lindsey look like a victim, but the facts don’t lie. He gave these suspects his student ID so they could move freely around campus. He knew they were armed and dangerous but kept quiet while police searched for them.
This is what happens when talented young people surround themselves with the wrong crowd instead of building a better life. Lindsey had every opportunity to succeed but threw it all away to help murderers. Now his football career is over and he’s facing serious prison time.
Every parent should use this story to teach their kids about making good choices and picking the right friends. When you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas, and Lindsey is about to learn that lesson the hard way. There are consequences for helping killers, and no amount of football talent can save you from bad decisions.
