This is the first time ever that someone has hit the Powerball jackpot on New Year’s Day, talk about starting off the year with a bang! And get this, the winner has the choice between taking home the full $842 million paid out over nearly three decades or snagging a cool $425.2 million in one shot. Decisions, decisions! But hey, when you’re suddenly swimming in cash, who’s in a rush to choose?
Two lucky winners in Florida and Texas raked in $2 million each, while four others in California, Connecticut, Florida, and Maryland snagged a smooth $1 million. That’s a whole lotta cheddar being spread around, and it’s not even a cheese festival!
