The predictable spectacle unfolded once again as the liberal media reacted to President Trump’s recent address to a joint session of Congress. With the mainstream press steadily tumbling down the slippery slope of irrelevance and their so-called elite journalists either fleeing the sinking ship or getting booted out, the overall uproar following Trump’s speech seemed subdued, though absurdity still reigned supreme.
According to a quick survey by CBS News/YouGov, a whopping 76 percent of Americans gave Trump a thumbs-up after his address, while CNN chimed in with a more modest but still impressive 69 percent approval rating. This must have sent the White House officials into a tizzy of joy. In stark contrast to the nonstop meltdowns characteristic of Trump’s first stint in the Oval Office, the Democrats looked lost and bewildered this time around. Drawing comparisons to a piece of paper fluttering helplessly in a hurricane, it’s clear that voters were largely on the president’s side.
The Democrats in attendance were not amused during Trump’s speech, in which he made it clear that he wasn’t shy about pointing fingers, particularly at the Biden administration and the mess it left behind. Critics on CNN claimed the address felt more like a campaign rally than an official speech, and social media was abuzz with reactions mocking this assertion. Apparently, they missed the boat on the fact that the electorate is tuning out the typical talking points fed to them by legacy media.

Not to be outdone, MSNBC’s Nicole Wallace took the low road by invoking an ill-timed jab involving a young boy battling cancer while attempting to criticize Trump. This desperate attempt to redirect the conversation showed just how far the Democrats were willing to go. The cringe-worthy moment only further highlighted their detachment from what everyday Americans truly care about.
CNN’s Scott Jennings didn’t hold back as he delivered a scorching critique of the Democrats’ reaction, pointing out that it was a “Horrific night for the opposition party.” He accused the left of being utterly lost and incapable of responding to Trump’s strong rhetoric. The Democrats’ attempts at rebuttal seemed doomed from the start. Their clownish antics, including the infamous bingo signs that several figures from the left openly reviled, seemed to mirror the chaos engulfing the party itself.
In a summary of the event, the media’s meltdowns appeared far less frenetic this time around. Whether or not America has simply grown accustomed to the emotionally charged responses of the left is open to debate. However, one thing is certain: their effort to frame Trump’s speech as a dark, partisan affair fell flat. As for CBS and CNN, even they couldn’t maneuver themselves into a position of denial about the speech’s positive reception across the country. In the end, the only noteworthy consensus among the leftists was that sticking to bizarre props to express their discontent perhaps wasn’t their smartest move.
