According to recent polling, a substantial portion of the American populace seems convinced that Vice President Kamala Harris played a key role in covering up President Joe Biden’s deteriorating health. Following Biden’s decision to withdraw from the presidential race, this sentiment has only intensified, suggesting that many believe a real-life political soap opera is unfolding with Harris at the center stage.
In a YouGov poll, 54% of surveyed individuals expressed the belief that the Biden administration has been less than transparent regarding the President’s cognitive and physical state. Among those who sensed something fishy, a whopping 68% pointed directly at Harris, saying she had a “great deal” of involvement in keeping the health issues under wraps. Another poll conducted by The Democracy Institute and the Daily Express US found that 62% of Americans accused Harris outright of lying about Biden’s health conditions. Apparently, many citizens are connecting the dots faster than a rogue conspiracy theorist.

As Biden’s public appearances become fewer and further between, Democrats have found themselves in a tough spot. They began suggesting that the President should pass the baton after a cringe-worthy debate performance in June against former President Donald Trump, where Biden appeared to lose his mental footing faster than a contestant on a treacherous reality show. Even Hollywood royalty like George Clooney weighed in, lamenting that Biden was a shadow of his former self, unable to keep pace with the guy he used to be just a few years ago.
Polling data paints quite the picture as Biden exits the stage. Trump currently leads Harris by 1.9% in a national head-to-head matchup. That lead expands to 2.8% when factoring in third-party candidates such as Jill Stein, Cornel West, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. It’s a runoff scenario reminiscent of classic political rivalries, where Team Biden seems more occupied with preserving a facade than fortifying a legitimate campaign.
As the blame game heats, it becomes increasingly clear that many Americans are eager for a dose of honesty from their leaders—or, at the very least, some acknowledgement of the reality that’s playing out before their eyes. Whether it’s the narrative of health cover-ups or a sinking ship of a campaign, it seems the American electorate is more apoplectic than ever and tuning into the bizarre dynamics of the Democratic Party.
