As Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) is dealing with a family emergency, his wife, Gayle Manchin, was involved in a car accident in Alabama on Monday, leaving her hospitalized. The crash occurred after Gayle Manchin and her colleague Guy Land left Birmingham airport for a work event. Sen. Manchin reassured the public that his wife is in “stable condition” and will remain at UAB Hospital for “a couple of days for precautionary measures.”
Of course, it’s such a shame to hear about this car wreck, but it’s certainly a relief that Mrs. Manchin is doing okay. We all know those southern highways can be a bit tricky to navigate! Nevertheless, it’s good to see Sen. Manchin expressing gratitude to the first responders, who were there to lend a helping hand in her time of need.

Unfortunately, there are still many unanswered questions about the incident, and no doubt we’ll all be keeping a watchful eye on this developing story. Stay strong, Manchin family, and we hope for a speedy recovery for Mrs. Manchin.
