Daily Wire host Matt Walsh sparked a firestorm this week when he dared to ask a simple question that has Democrats scrambling for cover. The question that sent the left into meltdown mode was basic: What makes someone a real American? When Congresswoman Delia Ramirez was asked this fundamental question, her answer was a complete disaster.
Walsh pointed out the obvious truth that being born on American soil does not automatically make you American in your heart and values. He called out Rep. Ramirez, noting she became American only through what he termed a paperwork loophole. The liberal media went crazy, but Walsh was simply stating what millions of patriotic Americans already know.
The same logic applies to Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar, who was born in Miami to Cuban exiles. Just because someone has American papers does not mean they put America first. Walsh argued that true Americans show loyalty to this country above all else, not just wave around a birth certificate.
The left’s response was totally predictable and completely missed the point. They screamed about racism and xenophobia instead of addressing the real issue. Media Matters and other leftist attack dogs immediately went after Walsh for asking tough questions they cannot answer.
Real Americans understand what Walsh was getting at because we see it every day. Too many politicians put foreign interests, open borders, and globalist policies ahead of American workers and families. Being American means more than just having the right paperwork or being born in the right place.
This controversy shows exactly why the establishment hates conservatives who speak truth. Walsh exposed how the left defines citizenship as nothing more than geographic accident. They have no concept of American values, American culture, or American loyalty.
The liberal politicians getting called out should be answering the question instead of playing victim. If you cannot explain what makes America special and why you fight for Americans first, then maybe you do not belong representing us. This is about priorities and allegiance, not birth certificates.
Walsh did what more conservative leaders should do every day. He asked the hard questions that make Democrats uncomfortable and expose their anti-American agenda. Every real patriot knows exactly what he meant, and that is why the left is so angry about it.
