Voters might want to keep a blindfold handy if they ever get an unfiltered look at Vice President Kamala Harris, not for their sanity but for the collective IQ of the American electorate. It seems the mainstream media has taken on the valiant quest of shielding the public from her glaring inadequacies. The lengths they go to conceal Harris’s shortcomings are almost comical—though hardly surprising considering the state of today’s political landscape.
Recently, former President Donald Trump took to the social media platform X to remind everyone just how “not very smart” Harris truly is. During an interview with Rob Crilly of the U.K. Daily Mail, Trump noted that Harris has been suspiciously quiet, going months without a substantive press conference or interview. It raises a question: if she’s so capable, why hide behind a television screen and let someone else handle the tough questions? Is it that she’s more interested in avoiding tough questions than in putting forth any actual policy?

Trump didn’t hold back when he called out the vice president’s struggle with consistency. Harris has a reputation for flip-flopping faster than a pancake on a griddle. Interestingly, she sometimes takes cues from Trump’s policies—though there’s no need to applaud her for following the leader when she has routinely failed to carve out her path. Her handlers must be sweating bullets, knowing that Harris’s attempts at engagement in the past have been spectacularly cringe-worthy.
When asked what questions he would want to see Harris tackle in her CNN interview with Dana Bash, Trump had a list ready that included open borders and electric vehicle mandates—issues where Harris has waffled more than a diner on a Sunday morning. One could almost feel pity for her running mate, Minnesota’s Democratic Governor Tim Walz, who is likely there to serve as a human shield against the barrage of questions Harris seems too intimidated to answer herself.
While the media continues to provide cover for Harris, their efforts remind everyone of one thing: hiding candidates in a basement might have worked for a while, but eventually, they have to face the music. Amidst all the shielding, it’s becoming glaringly apparent that the left would prefer to keep their vice president out of the spotlight—and not just because she might trip over her word salad. So, while Harris prepares for yet another orchestrated attempt at appearing relatable, the American people should remain ever vigilant.
