The American Israel Public Affairs Committee has become one of the most powerful lobbying forces in our nation’s capital. Their grip on Congress should alarm every patriotic American who believes in putting America First.
AIPAC boasts an incredible 96% to 98% win rate for candidates they support in elections. This foreign policy lobby group spent $3.5 million on lobbying in 2018 alone, far outspending competing groups. When any organization has this much control over our elected officials, we must ask tough questions about who really runs America.
The group claims to represent over 5 million pro-Israel Americans, but critics argue they function more like agents of the Israeli government. AIPAC pushes for billions in American taxpayer dollars to flow overseas every year. At a time when our own border is under attack and our cities are crumbling, why are we sending $30 billion over 10 years to another country?
Many Americans don’t realize that AIPAC operates under a special exemption that other foreign influence groups don’t enjoy. Some experts believe they should be required to register under the Foreign Agents Registration Act like other groups that promote foreign government interests. This would force them to disclose all their activities and funding sources to the American people.
The influence goes beyond just money and lobbying meetings. AIPAC provides luxury trips and accommodations for members of Congress, building long-term relationships with politicians throughout their careers. These junkets create obligations and loyalties that may not align with American interests first.
Rep. Greene and other America First conservatives are brave enough to ask the hard questions. Why does this lobby group have more success than almost any other organization in getting what they want from Congress? How can any foreign-focused group wield such tremendous power over our representatives?
The military-industrial complex benefits greatly from these relationships, with defense contractors profiting from increased aid packages. Over 60% of Congress members receive campaign funding from these same defense companies. This creates a cycle where foreign aid leads to corporate profits and political donations.
Every patriotic American should demand transparency from organizations that influence our government. We deserve to know who is pulling the strings in Washington and whether our representatives are fighting for us or for foreign interests. It’s time to put America First and restore government of the people, by the people, and for the people.
