Michigan isn’t just famous for its cherry festivals and knack for churning out cars. Oh no! Those good people of Michigan hold a power so great that the fate of the White House, House, and Senate all hang in the balance. And guess what? The Washington Examiner, a real muckraking powerhouse, is on the case with a series called “Great Stakes: The fight to be hailed as victors in Michigan.” Hold onto your hats, folks! The battle is about to get nasty!
Take a deep breath, because things are heating up before President Joe Biden even gets to November. You see, President Biden just can’t seem to win with the Democrats in Michigan because of his stance on Israel. Uh oh! The Arab American and Muslim voters aren’t pleased as punch with Biden, and they’re making sure everyone knows it. These folks are promising to turn their backs on Biden and vote “uncommitted” in the primary election. They’re over the moon upset about Biden’s handling of the Israel-Hamas war, and they’re not afraid to show it.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations’s Michigan chapter’s big cheese, Dawud Walid, is on the warpath. He’s saying that Michigan’s Arab and Muslim Americans are all riled up and ready to throw their weight around in the presidential election. According to him, these guys and gals could very well decide the next president of these United States. Can you imagine? All that power in just a few thousand votes!
Not only are the Michigan Arab and Muslim voters up in arms, but they’re also pulling in some major political guns. Rep. Rashida Tlaib, who represents a big part of the Detroit area, and even that guy who thought he could topple President Trump in 2020, Beto O’Rourke, are rallying the troops to back the “uncommitted” cause. They’re giving President Biden a run for his money, and it’s causing a lot of fuss for the poor guy.
On the flip side, the Jewish community in Michigan, while not as big as the Arab and Muslim voters, is also stirring up the pot. Governor Gretchen Whitmer, a real Biden believer, is trying her best to smooth things over. She’s pleading with everyone to remember that not voting for Biden is practically the same as throwing a vote to the other side, AKA President Trump. Ouch! Those are fighting words, folks.
Despite all these craziness, President Biden’s campaign team wants to play it cool. They’re not saying much about this whole “uncommitted” situation, but they’re quick to remind everyone about President Biden’s impressive job-creating skills in Michigan and his work for clean energy – that’s the “W” word, folks, “Wind”. They also have some niceties to say about Biden’s Middle East peace efforts. But shh, let’s see what the Michigan voters have to say about that!
