On Memorial Day, the nation remembers the brave soldiers who fought and died for our freedom. Thousands of troops from World War II and other conflicts still remain unidentified, but two military labs are working tirelessly to bring closure to their families. The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency labs in Offutt Air Force Base and Hawaii are using advanced technology to identify the remains of these soldiers. Through DNA analysis and comparison of medical records, experts have been able to successfully identify more missing troops each year. It’s heartwarming to see families finally able to give their loved ones a proper burial after decades of uncertainty.
