Outside the trial, De Niro faced opposition from Trump supporters, who jeered at him as he left the scene. Additionally, a car alarm went off while De Niro was delivering his speech.
Karoline Leavitt, Trump’s campaign press secretary, criticized the Biden campaign’s decision to recruit De Niro, suggesting that it reflects the campaign’s acknowledgement of its shortcomings. She argued that the campaign’s actions indicate a confession that Trump’s legal battles are a witch hunt orchestrated by Joe Biden.
