New Whistleblowers Accuse Boeing of Ignoring Safety Flaws and Retaliation

In the wake of the tragic deaths of two whistleblowers, two more individuals have come forward to raise concerns about safety issues at Boeing. Roy Irvin and Santiago Paredes have stepped forward to share their worries about safety problems at the company, claiming that Boeing is aware of these issues but has failed to take action. They assert that not only has Boeing neglected to address safety problems, but it has also taken retaliatory measures against employees who have attempted to report them.

Irvin, a former quality investigator at Boeing, detailed the numerous safety issues he encountered while working on Boeing 787 Dreamliners from 2011 to 2017. He highlighted missing safety devices and improperly secured hardware as critical concerns that could pose serious risks to the safety of the airplanes. Moreover, Irvin mentioned that he had to act in a way that went against company directives in order to bring these problems to light.

Paredes, a former quality manager, also expressed worries about the safety of Boeing’s aircraft, noting that he observed numerous defects and issues at the end of the production line. He described the problems he witnessed as potentially dangerous, likening them to “a ticking time bomb.”

According to attorney Brian Knowles, who is representing Irvin and Paredes, over 20 whistleblowers have now come forward with similar concerns. Knowles emphasized that these individuals are not disgruntled employees but rather care deeply for the company and are seeking to ensure its safety and integrity. He stressed that the motivation behind these whistleblowers’ actions is not to harm Boeing but to steer the company back on track.

Knowles also stated that despite Boeing’s assurances of reform, the internal problems have not been adequately addressed, and those speaking out about them are facing retaliation.

Boeing has been under intense scrutiny following a series of accidents involving its planes that prompted a government investigation. The recent deaths of two whistleblowers have heightened suspicion and focused attention on the company.
