New York City just made a huge mistake. Socialist Zohran Mamdani won the Democratic primary and will likely become the next mayor. This foreign-born radical wants to turn our great city into a communist paradise.
Mamdani was born in Uganda and raised by academic elites. His father is a college professor and his mother makes movies. These are the wealthy coastal elites who think they know better than hardworking Americans.
This guy wants a 30 dollar minimum wage by 2030. That means every small business in New York will go bankrupt or move to Florida. Good luck finding a job when every company leaves the city because they cannot afford to pay burger flippers 30 bucks an hour.
His housing plan is straight out of the Soviet playbook. Mamdani wants the city government to control 200,000 new apartments and freeze all rent prices. When government controls housing, you get the projects and long waiting lists for basic needs.
The socialist also wants the city to run grocery stores in every borough. This is exactly what failed communist countries tried to do. Government cannot run businesses better than private companies who actually care about making money and serving customers.
Mamdani hates our police and wants to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he visits New York. He supports Palestine over our democratic ally Israel. This shows he will put radical politics ahead of American interests and public safety.
His plan includes massive tax increases on successful people and corporations. This will drive wealthy New Yorkers to move to Texas and Florida just like they did during the pandemic. The middle class will be left holding the bag for his socialist experiments.
New Yorkers better wake up before this radical destroys their city. Mamdani represents everything wrong with today’s Democratic Party. His policies will turn the Big Apple into Detroit.
