Newsmax just paid 67 million dollars to Dominion Voting Systems to settle a lawsuit. The conservative news network was sued for covering the 2020 election disputes that millions of Americans had real concerns about. This settlement does not mean Newsmax was wrong or that they lied about anything.
CEO Chris Ruddy is right to call this a positive story for his network. Newsmax gets to move forward without admitting any wrongdoing. They do not have to apologize on air or take back anything they reported. The company stood up for real journalism when it mattered most.
This is really about silencing conservative voices in America. Liberal media outlets spread lies every single day but face no consequences. Meanwhile, any conservative network that dares question the establishment gets dragged through expensive court battles. This is not justice – this is political warfare.
Newsmax was doing what good journalists should do – covering both sides of important stories. When millions of Americans had questions about the 2020 election, Newsmax gave them a voice. That used to be called serving the public, not spreading lies.
