NYC Mayor Adams Meets Trump Sparking Democrat Outrage Amidst Potential GOP Switch Rumors

New York City Mayor Eric Adams seems to be igniting a bit of a leftist freakout with his sideline dealings with former President Donald Trump. The Big Apple’s top honcho met with Trump just days before the Donald was sworn in as the 47th President, and one can almost hear the groans from the Democratic Party echoing through the streets of Manhattan. Not only did Adams manage to charm his way into a conversation with Trump, but he also made an appearance at the inauguration itself. One has to wonder if they had a “How to Annoy Democrats” workshop planned during their meeting.

Post-meeting, Adams touted the fruitful chat they had about the needs of New Yorkers and the role the federal government should be playing. After all, what’s better than a mayor working with a Republican president to enhance the lives of his constituents? Of course, this responsible leadership is sure to go over like a lead balloon with the left, whose members are busy clutching their pearls while deciding the best way to castigate Adams for seeking bipartisan cooperation—heaven forbid a Democrat show any inclination toward working with Trump.

Adams is facing a bribery trial, which should probably be the real focal point of the media’s attention right now. Yet, the left finds itself obsessing over the possibility of a Trump pardon, which they can’t seem to quit worrying about. It’s almost as if they’d prefer he simply went off script and blasted Trump at every turn, instead of choosing the tactful path that’s (surprise, surprise) practical and beneficial for New Yorkers.

Seasoned mayor or no, Adams has been careful with his words about Trump, choosing to sidestep heated criticisms that could alienate potential allies. So far, he has managed to avoid commenting negatively on Trump’s pardon spree related to the January 6 Capitol riot, a decision that has surely left much of the left seething, unable to reconcile their feelings of betrayal by a Democrat who refuses to fit into their cookie-cutter mold.

Interestingly enough, rumors are swirling about Adams potentially rejoining the Republican Party since he openly declared that the “American Party” is the one that really matters to him. This is either a brave stroke of independence or an alarming sign of impending doom for Democrats, who view any semblance of bipartisanship as heresy to their agenda. It is a joy to witness the cracks forming in the fortress of Democratic unity, with Adams potentially signaling a shift toward a more practical, citizen-focused governance style that actually serves the people instead of just the party.

It’s no wonder that NYC Councilwoman Vickie Paladino chimed in with her thoughts, claiming that Trump’s election was a sigh of relief for Adams. By seeking to work with the federal government to deport criminal illegal aliens, he’s generating a buzz that will only further ruffle the feathers of those in blue. If this cooperation opens the door to actual reforms and a better city for residents, one might even dare to dream that sensible governance could become fashionable again in the Big Apple. For now, though, the left will remain as uneasy as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs every time Adams and Trump are mentioned together.
