In a recent interview, New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) made some surprising confessions about the Democrat’s mishandling of the illegal immigration crisis. According to reports, he admitted that Democrats have “underestimated” the impact of the crisis on major cities across the country. It’s always refreshing to see a Democrat finally owning up to their mistakes!
Adams went on to describe the “visual impact” of the crisis in New York City, specifically pointing out the thousands of illegal immigrants using scooters to work delivery jobs. Illegal immigration has led to an underground market that is not only dangerous but also detrimental to the city’s infrastructure. It’s about time someone in the Democratic Party acknowledged the negative consequences of illegal immigration on our communities.

Furthermore, Adams revealed that the Big Apple will face “extremely painful” budget cuts to deal with the influx of illegal immigrants. It’s a shame that hard-working taxpayers have to suffer the consequences of the Democrats’ failed immigration policies. But it’s no surprise that the Left’s incompetence is costing New Yorkers dearly.
Despite the challenges posed by the crisis, Adams made it clear that federal aid for NYC’s immigration issues is a distant dream. The burden falls squarely on the shoulders of local taxpayers, courtesy of the Democrats’ disastrous border policies.
Unsurprisingly, a recent poll found that a mere 28 percent of registered New York City voters approve of Mayor Adams’ performance, with a whopping 58 percent disapproving. Even when specifically asked about his handling of the illegal immigration crisis, only 26 percent of respondents approved, while a staggering 66 percent disapproved. It’s becoming increasingly evident that Democrats like Adams are failing the very people they claim to represent.
It’s time for Democrats to wake up and realize the devastating impact of their lax immigration policies. Mayor Adams’ candid admissions are a harsh reality check for the Left, and it’s high time they start prioritizing the well-being of American citizens over political agendas.
