New York Mayor Eric Adams is making some big waves lately, and it’s music to the ears of law-abiding citizens. He’s fed up with the sanctuary city nonsense that’s been letting criminal illegal aliens run amuck in New York City. The Mayor’s had enough and he’s not afraid to speak up about it, much to the surprise of the liberal establishment!

The sanctuary city policy was put into place by none other than ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo, and it’s caused nothing but headaches for the good people of New York. This misguided law prevents state agencies from working with ICE to deport criminal illegal aliens, which means these dangerous individuals get released right back into our communities even after they’ve been arrested for heinous crimes.
Now, Mayor Adams is setting the record straight. He’s calling for changes to the sanctuary city law so that if an illegal alien commits a felony or a violent act, they can be turned over to ICE and sent packing. It’s about time someone takes a stand to protect American citizens and uphold the rule of law.
This push for change comes on the heels of a horrifying incident in Georgia, where an illegal alien, Jose Antonio Ibarra, is accused of kidnapping and murdering 22-year-old Laken Riley on a college campus. What’s even more infuriating is that Ibarra had previously been arrested in New York City for a crime but was let loose thanks to the sanctuary law, before he could be handed over to ICE.
Ibarra, a 26-year-old illegal alien from Venezuela, waltzed into the U.S. through the Mexico border and had the audacity to commit crimes in New York City. He was arrested for injuring a child as well as a motor vehicle violation, yet the sanctuary law made sure he was back on the streets before ICE could even bat an eye.
Now, Ibarra sits in jail, accused of taking the life of an innocent young woman, and Mayor Adams is rightfully demanding changes to prevent this kind of travesty from happening again. It’s time to put the safety and well-being of American citizens first, and Mayor Adams is leading the charge to make it happen. Let’s hope the powers that be listen to reason and follow through with these much-needed modifications to the sanctuary city policy.
