During her most recent "Guts" tour, musical artist Olivia Rodrigo, best known for her role in the former Disney series High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, brought her "Fund 4 Good" initiative to St. Louis, Missouri. Rodrigo's group positioned tables where they sold merchandise while providing concertgoers with complimentary condoms and Plan B tablets. The pill and prophylactic packaging even dared to promote abortion with the following statement: "Are you funding abortion?" "Isn't it a brilliant idea, exactly?"

Rodrigo's fund is supported by the Entertainment Industry Foundation, which asserts that its primary objective is "to construct a future that is fair and impartial for women and girls by providing direct assistance to community-based non-profits that advocate for girls' education, defend reproductive rights, and prevent gender-based violence." Put simply, they provide financial support to organizations that advocate for abortion and liberal ideologies.
Adding insult to injury, revenue generated from the sale of tickets for Rodrigo's tour is being directed towards this contentious fund. Furthermore, the foundation took pride in the fact that Rodrigo would be collaborating with local chapters of the National Network of Abortion Funds in order to guarantee reproductive care for those "most adversely affected by systemic racism, misogyny, and healthcare barriers."
Rodrigo's audacious action in support of abortion is consistent with her habit of utilizing her platform to further progressive objectives. In 2021, she even dared to deliver a speech at the White House in an attempt to convince her followers to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. It is evident that Rodrigo serves as a spokesperson for left-wing activism in addition to being a pop icon.
Attorney General Andrew Bailey of Missouri has recently filed a lawsuit against Planned Parenthood, alleging that the organization transported clients undergoing abortions from Missouri, where the procedure is illegal except in cases of medical emergency, to another jurisdiction. Bailey contends that the activities of Planned Parenthood amount to trafficking, given that the organization arranges transportation without parental consent. Rodrigo's endorsement of abortion seems to associate her with an organization that is encountering significant legal scrutiny amidst this contentious issue.
Olivia Rodrigo's collaboration with organizations that advocate for abortion and her provision of complimentary contraceptives and Plan B pills are audacious decisions that are certain to estrange conservative supporters. Disregarding her music career, it is regrettable to see a young role model use her influence to promote controversial political agendas.
