On Twitter, legal experts and conservative figures are expressing their indignation and dismay over special counsel Jack Smith's absurd prospective indictment of former President Donald Trump. It is genuinely astounding! Trump's disclosure that Smith had informed him of a criminal investigation into his actions surrounding the Capitol rioting on January 6, 2021 sparked a new round of political controversy.
Legal Experts SLAM Jack Smith's Potential Indictment Of Trump Over J6: 'Makes No Sense'……https://t.co/OWFGHdJhpH

Former U.S. Attorney Brett L. Tolman, a prominent critic, immediately expressed his displeasure on Twitter. "It makes no sense for Jack Smith to send President Trump a threatening letter and then indicate that he must appear before the Grand Jury," he remarked. I couldn't concur with you more! Tolman went on to explain the legal ramifications of compelling a suspect to testify before a grand jury, emphasizing how this could undermine the entire case and violate the defendant's right to due process. This is legal drama at its worst!
In response to an order to appear before the GJ, a target’s lawyers should immediately send a letter to the prosecutor that they intend to exercise their 5th Amendment rights. Once received, the prosecutor must excuse the target from appearing under US Attorneys Manual.

I was harassed for hours by the Jack Smith grand jury as his anti-Trump prosecutors argued with me about challenges to the 2020 election, including whether or not I watched Trump's election night speech. Having witnessed firsthand their abuse of power, no surprise these partisans…

I’ve warned of this for over a year.
I take no pride in being right.
Only question now is what charges Smith will bring (strong possibility he’ll seek indictment on seditious conspiracy) and who is charged with him. (Any conspiracy charge requires at least one conspirator) https://t.co/BeLCpvloeM

Conservatives and Republicans everywhere should be furious with the SOB rogue Biden prosecutor, the AG who’s approving this farce, and the undeniable DOJ/FBI campaign to destroy Trump and re-elect Biden. More on radio this evening.https://t.co/8qNufRvytP

The continued politicization and weaponization of the Department of Justice has turned our institutions into enforcers for the Biden administration’s partisan priorities.
It remains deeply harmful to the rule of law. https://t.co/gs4sszgzr9

Tom Fitton, the president of Judicial Watch, echoed Fitton's concerns regarding Smith's peculiar investigative approach. Fitton claims to have experienced prejudiced interrogation from Smith's team, indicating that not only are these prosecutors biased, but they are also abusing their authority. I'm not at all astonished! Fitton went on to imply that the prospective indictment of Trump is an additional illustration of the grave threat to the rule of law. It's unfortunate that we must witness such obvious political persecution!
Julie Kelly, a conservative commentator, also expressed apprehension regarding Trump's charges. She brought up the possibility that Smith would pursue an indictment for seditious conspiracy, thereby adding to the uncertainty and conjecture surrounding the ongoing investigation. It is astounding how far these individuals will go to tarnish Trump's legacy.
Even Senator Ted Cruz and conservative radio presenter Mark Levin expressed their outrage at what they perceive to be the politicization and arming of the Department of Justice. Levin brazenly criticized the "SOB rogue Biden prosecutor" and the Attorney General for sanctioning this farce. He skillfully emphasized the DOJ/FBI's unremitting campaign to demolish Trump and guarantee Biden's reelection. It is a complete travesty!
Cruz reiterated Levin's criticism of the Biden administration for blatantly misusing the DOJ to advance their own partisan agenda. It is revolting to observe this administration's continued erosion of the rule of law. The Department of Justice should be an impartial institution, not a weapon for the Biden administration's partisan agenda.
As these conservative voices cast light on the potentially shady and abusive nature of the investigation, it becomes evident that this indictment demonstrates how polarized our nation has become. The investigation into Trump's conduct on January 6 only adds to the already complex and politically fraught nature of that date. When our justice system is weakened for political gain, it is a sorry state of affairs.
The outcome of Smith's indictment will undoubtedly have severe repercussions for the perception of the integrity of the U.S. justice system, which has been severely compromised by liberal agendas and partisan witch hunts. It is past time for us to reclaim the rule of law and defend our Constitution from these power-hungry politicians. Conservatives, stand firm and fight against this travesty!
