America lost a true patriot on Wednesday when liberal extremist Tyler Robinson gunned down Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University. The 22-year-old assassin targeted Kirk during a peaceful campus event, firing a single shot from a rooftop that killed the 31-year-old father of two. This was not random violence but a calculated political assassination of one of our brightest conservative voices.
The security failure at this university is absolutely disgraceful. How does a armed killer just waltz onto campus, climb to a rooftop, and execute a conservative leader in broad daylight? Where were the security guards when Robinson spent hours positioning himself for this attack? This blood is on the hands of every administrator who failed to protect our students and speakers.
Charlie Kirk was doing exactly what every American should do – engaging with young people and defending our constitutional values. He was hosting his popular Prove Me Wrong event where students could challenge his views in open debate. Instead of dialogue, the radical left chose murder. This is what happens when Democrats spend years demonizing conservatives as enemies of democracy.
The left has created a climate of hate that makes violence against conservatives seem acceptable. For years they have called us fascists, racists, and threats to democracy. They have weaponized college campuses against conservative speakers. Now their toxic rhetoric has led to the ultimate tragedy – the murder of a young father who only wanted to educate America’s youth.
Robinson drove to campus in a gray Dodge Challenger, changed into dark clothes, and methodically planned his attack. He climbed through stairwells to reach his sniper position on the roof. This was premeditated murder, pure and simple. The fact that he targeted Kirk specifically shows this was political terrorism designed to silence conservative voices.
Thank God the FBI caught this monster within 33 hours of his cowardly attack. Robinson thought he could murder Kirk and disappear into the shadows like some kind of leftist hero. Instead, he will face the death penalty that Utah Governor Spencer Cox is already pursuing. Justice will be served for this heinous crime.
President Trump’s tribute to Kirk captured what every patriotic American feels right now. Charlie understood the hearts and minds of young Americans better than anyone. He dedicated his life to fighting for conservative values and training the next generation of patriots. His legacy through Turning Point USA will live on long after his killer rots in prison.
This attack cannot and will not intimidate us into silence. Conservative voices will not be bullied off college campuses by violent leftist extremists.
