Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a leading liberal voice with her head in the clouds, flew into a tizzy when President Joe Biden had the gall to call Laken Riley’s killer an “illegal immigrant.” Pelosi, always quick to defend any wrongdoing by those crossing the border illegally, took issue with the wording and suggested Biden should have used the more politically correct term “undocumented.” It appears Pelosi is more concerned with hurt feelings than addressing the serious issue of illegal immigration and the dangers it poses to American citizens.
Biden’s acknowledgment that the 22-year-old University of Georgia student was allegedly murdered by an illegal migrant sparked outrage and brought to light the risks that come with an unsecured border. Pelosi, along with her equally misguided Democrat cronies, seems more interested in protecting criminals than ensuring the safety of American citizens. It’s no wonder Pelosi’s priorities are so out of touch with reality when she can’t even bring herself to condemn illegal immigration for what it truly is – a threat to national security.

As crimes committed by illegal immigrants continue to make headlines, the Biden administration is facing mounting criticism for its lax border policies. Instances like the attack on New York City police officers by migrants released without bail highlight the dangers of allowing criminals to roam freely in our communities. Yet Pelosi and her ilk would rather play politics than address the real concerns of law-abiding Americans who fear for their safety.
With immigration at the forefront of voters’ minds in an election year, it’s clear that the majority of Americans view illegal border crossings as a critical threat to the nation’s security. President Trump’s call for a secure border wall is gaining support as more Americans see the need to protect our country from the dangers posed by unchecked immigration. Democrats may try to shift blame onto Republicans for failed immigration deals, but the truth remains that the Biden administration’s policies have left our borders wide open and our citizens vulnerable to harm.
It’s time for Pelosi and her liberal cohorts to stop pandering to criminals and start putting the safety and security of Americans first. The continued failure to address illegal immigration only emboldens those who seek to harm our communities. Americans deserve better than empty rhetoric and misguided policies that put political agendas above national interests. Let’s hope sanity prevails before more lives are needlessly lost due to the reckless disregard for the dangers of illegal immigration.
