Representative Nancy Pelosi, a Democrat from California, recently chatted on MSNBC’s “Katy Tur Reports” about the Democrats’ grand plans if they win big in Congress and at the White House. Apparently, if they get their way, the filibuster will be kicked to the curb faster than yesterday’s leftover meatloaf. Why? To make abortion legal everywhere in the good ol’ U.S. of A. Pelosi argues that abortion is not just a women’s issue, it’s a democracy issue! She thinks every lady should have the freedom to choose what happens with her body. Plus, she says it’s a decision that can affect a family’s wallet as much as their hearts.
Ms. Tur prodded Pelosi with questions like it was a game of hot potato. She wanted to know if abortion will be a hot-button issue at the polls. The representative seems to think so, claiming there could be a scary national ban on abortions if the wrong folks get in power. And who wants that, right? Pelosi’s big plan for abortion rights? Win it all! Snag the White House, the House, and the Senate. Easy peasy lemon squeezy, as the kids say.

And what if President Biden gets to stick around for a bit AND the Dems control both the House and Senate? Pelosi’s got a twinkle in her eye as she spills the beans. She thinks they can lock in Roe v. Wade as law. But wait a minute, doesn’t that need a lot of Senate votes? Not according to Pelosi! She says they can bend the rules, toss out the filibuster, and get er’ done with just a slim majority.
